ONCE UPON A TIME....Chapter 2

Sister was having a wonderful time
visiting with Great-Aunt Mary and
with Grannie who was Great-Aunt
Mary's sister.

Sister was learning to sew on a real
sewing machine with a real needle.
She also got to use real pins to pin
the fabric together. Then she sewed
it on the sewing machine.She had
made an outfit for her favorite doll.
She was so proud of what she had
done.

But even though Sister was having
a great time, she missed Little
Brother. She had such a funny
feeling in her stomach,sort of like
butterflies. Sister really want to
go home. She missed Little
Brother more than any thing
in the world.

How could Sister tell Grannie
that she wanted to go home.
Their visit was to last for
three more days when her
Grand-Dad would come for
them.

Sister tried to think of other
things, like the picture Grannie
was showing her how to draw.
Tomorrow Great -Aunt Mary
was going to make a picnic
lunch for them to take into
the piney woods where they
planned to gather pine straw
for making baskets. And then
on the last day of the visit, they
would use the pine straw to make
baskets. She planned to make
Little Brother a small basket to
help gather the hen eggs.

Sister decided if she could take
Little Brother a gift that she
had made herself, then maybe,
just maybe ,it would not be so
bad to stay three more days......
